Prolab P3 Functional Posted Prefabricated Orthotics control motion and distribute pressure evenly with their functionally corrected, semi-rigid polypropylene design. The semi-rigid orthotic is designed to control abnormal pronation and the 3/4 length design allows the orthotics to be transferred from shoe to shoe. The deep heel cup keeps the heel seated in the orthotic, for a more comfortable fit.
Prolab P3 Posted Orthotics are black in color and have an addition at the heel for extra motion control. Posted orthotics control more motion than unposted orthotics, but may take up slightly more room in the shoe. Prolab Unposted Orthotics.
Medical Usage: Recommended for heel pain, heel spurs, arch pain, plantar fasciitis, hallux limitis and metatarsalgia.
Prolab Prefabricated Orthotics come in 10 sizes to accommodate most foot sizes.

How Orthotics Work: Prolab Functional Orthotic's rigid design controls abnormal motion in the foot and prevents midfoot collapse. In the picture below, the foot is pronated, the base of the heel has rotated out and the ankle has rotated towards the midline of the body.
When the heel rotates like this, it causes instability of the midfoot and results in midfoot collapse (arch collapse). Orthotics help to control the motion at the heel, preventing arch collapse. |
Controling the motion at the rearfoot and preventing arch collapse takes stress off of the heel and the arch and helps foot conditions like plantar fasciitis (heel spurs) and general arch and heel pain. |
Prolab orthotics distribute pressure more evenly between the heel and forefoot, decreasing excess pressure on the ball of the foot. The orthotics also help minimize elevation of the 1st metatarsal, in those with hypermobile feet. |
| |
| When the 1st metatarsal elevates, the weight is transfered to the ball of the foot. By balancing heel and forefoot pressure and preventing 1st metatarsal elevation, the orthotics help decrease pain in the ball of the foot, for example metatarsalgia. By controlling motion and distributing weight, orthotics also help hallux limitis. |
